Central Entrepreneurship Incubator

On the 15th, I had the privilege of witnessing a historic moment in the course of the implementation and consolidation of Entrepreneurship in São Tomé and Príncipe. I am referring to the launch of the rehabilitation works of the property that will receive, in the coming months, the “Central Entrepreneurship Incubator” of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship.
The XVII Constitutional Government, led by the Prime Minister, Jorge Bom Jesus, included, in its organization, the Entrepreneurship component, in a perfect marriage with the Youth and Sports sectors. From the outset, the portfolio holder, Vinicio Pina, committed himself to the search for partnerships and the formal creation of the Entrepreneurship Department, led by Alexsander Ferreira.
In the last two years, we have been carrying out intense initiatives in the field of Entrepreneurship, at the national level. With the exemplary partnership of UNDP, and its dynamic and pragmatic Resident Representative, Katarzyna Wawiernia, we had several achievements, among which, the “Social Entrepreneurship” project and now the “Empreende Jovem” project, in the final stretch. With the latter, two Entrepreneurship Incubators will appear, one in the capital of the country and the other in the Autonomous Region of Príncipe.
And it could not be different. I remember that, in the first meeting with the Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship, Wawiernia emphasized, unequivocally, that one of her priorities was the young people of São Tomé.
Young people are to be congratulated!
Entrepreneurs are to be congratulated!
MJDE and UNDP are also to be congratulated!
The challenges are immense and I am sure that the MJDE will continue to pave the way to make the dreams of dozens of young people full of initiatives come true, and who only need concrete incentives and support.
