
The inclusion of social entrepreneurship is the result of the successful implementation of the project - Encouraging young people to become social entrepreneurs in 2019, on capacity development in social entrepreneurship, run in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship, and the Municipalities of Agua Grande and Mé Zochi. However, the current social entrepreneurship initiatives fall under the UNDP participation in the youth component of the joint program, through the project Health Information System and youth entrepreneurship- Social protection in STP.


This project's main objective was to promote and conduct an innovative concept that can encourage the youth population to become social entrepreneurs and demonstrate the transformative power of socially innovative enterprises. As implementing partners, we highlight the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship and the District Councils of Agua Grande and Mé-Zochi.
About 150 young people developed their skills in social entrepreneurship, in the social business aspect, delivered at a distance by the NGO Yunus and Youth, during the months of August and November 2019, in the Social Entrepreneurship Follow-up Centers (CAJES).
The SDG FUND PROTEÇÃO SOCIAL is a joint program of the united nations system in Sao Tome and Principe, through multi-agency involvement, in partnership with the Ministry of Labor, Solidarity, Family and Vocational Training, and other ministries for the period 2020 and 2021. It aims to support the achievement of social registration by developing a framework of interventions to improve the access of extremely poor families to social protection and social services.
